Born in New Orleans on November 16, 1981, Bradley came into this world as the first son, great-grandson, grandson, and nephew of his family. He would go onto greatness in many ways, as you will soon read about. He comes from a family of hard working, blue collar, military loving people. His great uncle, two grandfathers, and two uncles have served in different branches of the armed services.
Always a ham, and ever the consummate performer, Bradley has been active in many things in his life. He loves to be the center of attention, as evidence by his extensive performance resume’ which includes solo vocal performances, lead roles, featured talent, assistant director, producer, and director credits. He has been an active board member for Slidell Little Theatre and active director for their children’s summer program, YATS. Bradley started his performing career at an early age. He started singing at Thanksgiving for family during Half time shows, then moved to the stage in middle school acting in and writing several skits for his Video media class and even serving as guinea pig for a makeup seminar to prep on air talent, which was still being used until Hurricane Katrina. Bradley made it to the stage when he played several bit roles in a local production of “Annie Get Your Gun”. From there he played more bit roles in “The Wizard of Oz”, and in 1996 received his first lead in his high school production of “The Apple Tree”. Bradley would go on to play a few more bit parts in Community Theater until 1999 when he played a featured role in “Agatha Christie’s The Hollow”, where he played Gudgeon the butler to standing ovations. He took a year off to start college in Chalmette at Nunez Community College . He would come back and land his first lead role in 3 years as Daddy Warbucks in “Annie”. He would go on to direct his first play, “The Phantom of the Soap Opera” a year later to much success. Bradley has since worked with Shine Productions and Slidell Little Theater, recently being the catalyst for launching their yearly showing of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Halloween Nights.
An avid wrestling fan, Bradley’s friends know he may be a little too much into it, but he passes off his admiration for pro wrestling like women who watch soap operas. It’s a story that never gets old and is a great way to relieve stress.
Bradley started as a Secondary English Education major because he believed that the youth of America have become lazy. Their writing skills were declining and their everyday vocabulary was also in decline. He also figured he get to teach some great drama in the process. After 3 years floundering in the English department, he decided to speak with an adviser in the Communication department and they pretty much talked him into becoming a Speech Communications Educator. He would only need to take one extra class to have certification in Speech and English so he took this as a sign of things actually coming to an end and that there was indeed a light at the end of the tunnel. Though he probably should have been a Speech Education major from the gate, he realizes that he is now in the right place and cannot wait to share his love of theater and English with his future students.
Upon graduating from SLU in the Fall of 2010, Bradley will be the first in his immediate family to graduate college. He plans on teaching Speech Education (theater, journalism, public speaking) and Secondary English Education. He has accrued enough hours from when he was an English major to leave SLU with a double certification.
